SUMMARY:ROSEN - Fundamentals of the Management of Geohazards During Operations
DESCRIPTION:This 16 hour course provides practical guidance on identifying and evaluating geohazards affecting operational pipelines\, in alignment with ISO 20074:2019. \nLed by Andy Young and Rebecca Senior\, the course focuses on the key role that in-line inspection (ILI) techniques play in the identification and assessment of hazards and in providing essential input data for the evaluation of the pipeline integrity. ILI offers precise measurement data to determine whether a pipeline has experienced unexpected external loads and the activity state of ground movement threats. Participants will learn about the main types of geohazards that affect pipelines\, how pipelines are loaded and fail due to geohazards\, and how a management process built around ILI can be used to protect pipelines. \nWhat You Will Learn:\n• Introduction to Geohazards\n• Types of Geohazards\n• Geohazard Management\n• Geohazard Identification\n• Geohazard Evaluation\n• Geohazard Control\n• Data Analytics & Machine Learning \nTo register for the course\, individuals need to email Coral at 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹@𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.𝗰𝗼𝗺 and head here to learn more! 10% discount to YEIP members with proof of membership.\n \n𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀:\n𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 is a Principal Geohazards Engineer with ROSEN Integrity Services in Newcastle upon Tyne\, UK. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics from the University of Portsmouth and a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Newcastle University. \nWith over 30 years of experience\, Andy specializes in pipeline integrity\, focusing on ground investigations\, hazard assessment\, pipeline loading analysis\, and mitigation strategies. Andy has also contributed significantly to education and industry standards. He developed and taught the Pipelines and Geohazards module for the MSc in Pipeline Integrity Management at the Northumbria University and has influenced key industry standards\, including IGEM/TD/1 and ISO 20074:2019. \n𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 is a Senior Pipeline Integrity and Geohazards Engineer with ROSEN Integrity Services based in Calgary\, Canada.
