On September 16th, 2021 the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC) hosted Week 2 of the CEPA Foundation Pipelines 101 series. The evening began with a presentation by Matt Teevens and Janel Wageman titled Pipelines Construction 101. About The Presentation:
This presentation helped provide a basic understanding of the field work involved in the construction of large diameter transmission pipelines.
About the Speakers:
Matt Teevens is a professional engineer with an engineering degree from University of Calgary. He joined TC Energy in 2007. Matt has a passion for project management, and spent more than a decade managing pipeline and facility projects in both Canada and the United States within the natural gas and liquids businesses. Currently Matt works as technical advisor focusing on strategy to improve contracting and execution of pipeline construction projects.
Janel Wageman holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Western Ontario, and has more than 30 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. Janel began her career in Ontario with Union Gas, worked for various EPC companies across Canada before joining TC Energy this past year in the Construction & Commissioning Excellence team. Her experience includes work on Natural Gas for Vehicles, Facilities Planning, Operations, Engineering and Construction in both the heavy oil and natural gas businesses. Janel is proud of the thousands of kilometers of pipelines including those through challenging terrain built with her engineering advice.
