The Young Energy Infrastructure Professionals (YEIP) of Canada and and Energy Connections Canada hosted the first YEIP technical webinar of 2024 with Janel Wageman on Pipeline Integrity Design on September 20th.
Janel Wageman holds a Biology Degree and a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Western Ontario and has more than 33 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Janel began her career in Ontario with Union Gas, worked for various EPC companies across Canada before joining TC Energy this past year in the Construction & Commissioning Excellence team. Her experience includes work on Natural Gas for Vehicles, Facilities Planning, Operations, Engineering and Construction in both the heavy oil and natural gas businesses. Janel is proud of the thousands of kilometers of pipelines including those through challenging terrain built with her engineering advice.
One of YEIP’s mandates is to advocate for effective energy infrastructure to accelerate a sustainable energy future. The function of pipe integrity engineering and design is critical for the business to secure the safe and uninterrupted flow of gas.
Janel’s presentation looked at several examples of Integrity Projects and recognized how the role of the Pipeline Integrity Design Engineer is integral to the Integrity Management Program mandate. TC Energy’s Integrity Management Program helps prevent, manage, and mitigate issues that could affect public safety, the environment, and the reliability of critical assets.
