YEIP Recognizes: International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

November 25 is recognized annually as International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Violence against women is any act of gender-based violence that results in physical, sexual or psychological harm, including threats of such harm in public or private. This day was founded through the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women issued by the UN General Assembly in 1993. Each year, the UN Women run the UNiTE campaign which includes the 16 days of activism.
