CSA Group & YPAC Collaboration

A new Collaborative Opportunity with CSA Group for YPAC members is on the horizon!

Tell me more about this collaborative opportunity!

The Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC) is a professional group for early-career individuals in the pipeline industry.  Pipelines are an integral part of Canada’s energy future, and YPAC is committed to building the next generation of leaders for the industry.  We want to shape the future of the pipeline industry so that it can attract and retain top talent.  We do this by enabling two-way dialogue between young pipeliners and key stakeholders in government, industry, and academia on critical topics such as climate change, indigenous reconciliation, innovation, and diversity & inclusion.  Guided by our values of creativity, bold vision, and focus, we are catalyzing change.

YPAC’s vision is to build the next generations of pipeline industry leaders that diligently work towards safe, efficient and reliable operations of pipelines. IN May 2020, CSA Group and YPAC agreed to collaborate and further strengthen the relationship by inviting YPAC take part in Oil and Gas standards development. Through this partnership, young professionals in the pipeline industry can gain more exposure to the relevant standards and connect with knowledgeable experts in the oil and gas sector, contribute to the development of standards, and stay abreast of ongoing and emerging developments in the sector. This collaboration will help enhance standards development efforts and preserve knowledge transfer for future generations in the industry.

In order to launch this collaboration, YPAC will be actively recruiting suitable candidates for this initiative.  The YPAC executive team will form a CSA advisory committee that will oversee this initiative and recruit YPAC members to join this collaboration when positions become available. The recruiting process will involve applying through the YPAC website as well as filling out the membership survey, so the candidate can be matched with the right opportunities. CSA will advise this team to ensure the candidates are well-suited for the chosen committees.

The letter delivered by the CSA, which highlights the partnership is attached below.
