Building the next generation of pipeline industry leaders. It’s YPAC’s core vision and integral to everything we do. Three years ago YPAC’s Vancouver Chapter and the University of British Columbia’s Pipeline Integrity Institute championed an annual award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in pipeline engineering courses and active student contribution and participation in current industry events.
The award not only motivates top performance in relevant pipeline engineering electives, but also creates awareness of opportunities within the pipeline engineering space and plants the seeds for continued industry involvement following graduation; The award reinforces for the next generation the foundation of what it means to be a successful young pipeliner.
We connected with recent recipients of the UBC-PII Young Pipeline Association of Canada Award to follow up on where their passions have taken them, hear their advice to the next generation of young pipeliners, and to see where they think the industry is headed next – check out their stories below:
