Ever wonder how projects are negotiated and financed?

Join the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada to learn about the associated economic and/or political factors that support some of the current mega-projects in North America as well as navigating the challenges of contract negotiations, financing and market expectations. Speaking on these issues will be Mike Gaudet, Director of Project Finance at RBC Capital Markets and Kerry Williams, Shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka.

Speakers:

Mike Gaudet is a Director in the Project Finance group at RBC Capital Markets. He has extensive experience in executing financing and advisory mandates for projects in power and energy space across North America.

Mike joined RBC Capital Markets in 2006 bringing several years of finance and treasury experience from the airline industry. His primary responsibilities at RBC are structuring and executing non-recourse debt financings across various debt markets for projects with debt requirements of between $100 million to multiple billions.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge, graduating with Distinction.  Mike also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Kerry Williams is a shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka based in Houston, Texas. He has more than 39 years of experience in all phases of business, energy, construction and law including legal representation, contract negotiation and administration, engineering, project management, and marketing of large international oil & gas, engineering and construction projects. Kerry is a practicing attorney specializing in construction/engineering transactions, environmental law, oil and gas transactions, maritime and international law. He previously served as a vice president and general counsel to a large international, publicly listed oil and gas services engineering/construction company, and a designated arbitrator (Construction Industry Panel).

Kerry graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law (with honors) and was admitted to the Bars of Texas, Maryland and Colorado and various Federal Courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a licensed Professional Engineer as well as a retired Naval Officer (Lt. Commander), who has served as a jet pilot during the Vietnam conflict. Mr. Williams holds an FAA commercial pilot license (with instrument rating).
