YEIP Recognizes: Father’s Day

Father’s Day in Canada is a time to celebrate and honour those who have an important role in our lives – whether it is our own fathers, or those who have an important presence or influence.

• Not all families are the same – seek to understand the experiences and backgrounds of others
• There are broad definitions of what it means to be a “father” and the impact these individuals have had in our lives
• Father’s Day can raise many different thoughts, feelings and emotions in people
• It is important to be inclusive and mindful about what this day means to others, while you celebrate and acknowledge your own unique relationships
