YEIP Recognizes: International Day of Persons with Disabilities

International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is a United Nations day recognized annually on Dec. 3. The day is about promoting the rights and well‐being of disabled persons, while celebrating their achievements and contributions in our communities.
- The term disability covers a broad range and degree of different conditions and is always evolving
- A disability is any condition of the body or mind that makes it more difficult to do certain activities or interact with the world
- Anyone can be affected by a disability and you can display your allyship by not crouching or touching their aides while speaking and not occupying spaces reserved for persons with disabilities
