YEIP Recognizes: Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day celebrates and honors mothers, motherhood, and the influence of mothers in society. 

• Not all families are the same – seek to understand the experiences and backgrounds of others
• There are broad definitions of what it means to be a “mother” and the impact these individuals have had in our lives
• Mother’s Day can raise many different thoughts, feelings and emotions in people
• It is important to be inclusive and mindful about what this day means to others, while you celebrate and acknowledge your own unique relationships
