The Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC) is pleased with recent decisions from both the Federal Court of Appeals on February 4, and the Supreme Court of Canada on January 16, which dismissed appeals challenging previous federal approval of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP). This decision clearly signals to investors and to international markets that Canada maintains a functioning legal and regulatory framework necessary to develop major projects.
Projects like TMEP provide critical experience, exposure, and skill development to working young professionals and trades across our country. YPAC is hopeful that this decision can provide a platform for further discussion on Canada’s international position as a safe and reliable energy exporter, and as a key player in a global sustainable energy future.
