UBC Pipeline Integrity Institute presents short course: Understanding Canadian Pipeline Systems – Module 2

Please note the courses will be:

• Online format only,
• 3 lunch hour modules (11am – 1pm PST),
• $325.00 CAD per module or $900.00 CAD for three modules (3/$850 for YEIP members).

Module 1: Pipelines & Regulations – by Ken Paulson

January 14, 2025 (2 hours – 11:00am – 1:00pm PST)   

Aimed at engineers and practitioners requiring an introduction to pipeline infrastructure in Canada.  Deeper understanding of the integration of pipelines in the Canadian economy and energy supply grid.

Module 2: Technical Requirements for Canadian Pipelines – by Ken Paulson

January 21, 2025 (2 hours – 11:00am – 1:00pm PST)  

Appreciation of the engineering controls applied to pipelines throughout the pipeline lifecycle. Introduction to management systems and essential pipeline programs including integrity management, emergency management and security management.

Module 3: Navigating the Regulatory Framework – by Ken Paulson

January 28, 2025 (2 hours – 11:00am – 1:00pm PST)  

Understanding how Governments  ensure safety and environmental protection through regulatory requirements; knowledge of how Indigenous consultation requirements have evolved over time and continue to evolve; appreciation of opportunities for regulatory enhancement and approvals, and skills necessary to engage productively.
