YPAC x AVATAR is proud to present the first joint session between Federal and Alberta Energy Minsters

The Avatar x YPAC Program is pleased to welcome the Minister of Natural Resources Canada and the Minister of Energy, Alberta to jointly address questions from the energy industry’s emerging leaders.

Calgary, Alberta: The Minister of Natural Resources Canada, the Honourable Seamus O’Regan will be joining the Minister of Energy, Alberta, the Honourable Sonya Savage for a joint Q&A session with the YPAC x AVATAR Program participants. The session will be held as an online webinar on Friday, July 24 at 2pm MST. We are pleased to provide media availability to the session.

The Ministers will be answering direct questions from the program participants regarding the issues facing Canada’s energy sector and the format will allow for exchange between the Ministers. The session will be introduced by the University of Calgary’s Chancellor, Deborah Yedlin, followed by remarks from Ministers O’Regan and Savage, and a moderated question and answer session. The session and closing comments will be provided by Kevin Krausert, CEO of Beaver Drilling and Avatar Program co-founder, and Molly Beckel, President of YPAC.  Media availability will follow at the conclusion of the session.

The ground-breaking YPAC x AVATAR Program is a collaboration between Beaver Drilling, the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC), supported by U of C Faculty from the Haskayne School of Business, the Schulich School of Engineering and the School of Public Policy. The Program was launched in June 2020 with 54 emerging leaders selected from across the energy sector. The participants are tasked with addressing five major future facing energy challenges and their solutions. The solutions will be pitched to an industry Shark Tank for possible industry implementation on August 7, 2020.
